As a Social Media Manager at USU (University Student Union), you will be responsible for developing
and executing social media strategies to increase student engagement and enhance brand awareness.
Your primary focus will be on creating and uploading new content across various social media
platforms, developing promotional material, merchandising campaigns, and producing engaging
podcasts. You will work closely with the marketing team and other stakeholders to ensure USU's social
media presence effectively engages and informs the student community.
1. Social Media Strategy and Content Creation:
• Aid in development and implementation of social media strategies to increase student
engagement, reach, and brand awareness.
• Create and curate compelling and relevant content for various social media platforms,
including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
• Plan and schedule regular posts, ensuring a consistent flow of engaging and timely content.
• Monitor social media trends and platform updates to adapt strategies and optimise content
performance.
• Create visually appealing graphics, images, and videos to support social media campaigns and
promotions.
2. Merchandising and Promotional Campaigns:
• Develop and execute merchandising campaigns to promote USU's brand and increase student
engagement.
• Collaborate with external vendors to design and produce branded merchandise.
• Plan and implement promotional campaigns across social media platforms to drive student
participation in USU activities and events.
3. Creation of Unique Content and Targeted Advertisement:
• Conceptualize, plan, and produce engaging podcasts/campaigns/programs etc relevant to the
interests and needs of the student community.
• Collaborate with USU departments, societies, and external organisations.
• Monitor and analyze social media metrics, such as engagement rates, reach, and conversions.
• Generate regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of social media campaigns and identify
areas for improvement.
• Current Ukrainian student or recent graduate between 18-28 years of age.
• Proven experience in managing social media platforms and creating engaging content.
• Attend regular weekly meetings.
• Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
• Strong graphic design skills, with experience using design software such as Adobe Creative
Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of current social media trends, platforms, and best practices.
• Familiarity with podcast/unique content/merch production and editing tools is a plus.
• Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and develop innovative social media
campaigns.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for student engagement and understanding of college campus culture.
