Job Summary:
The Ukrainian Students Union is seeking a dynamic and open-minded Societies Officer that would help leverage the communication between the Executive Team and 40 USU Societies. As our Union is growing continuously, there is a great need for maintaining stable and regular communication with the students across the UK, supporting their initiatives, assisting them in problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be extraverted and passionate about developing a strong network of Ukrainian students, building sustainable student communities, and possess strong organizational, communication, and networking skills.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining communication with student societies:
1. Support the USU’s efforts on uniting the student societies in the UK by regularly contacting them via our network of chats, updating them on our developments and keep our team updated on the developments inside of the societies; support our efforts in developing strong regional hubs of Ukrainian students
2. Encourage the Societies to participate in our activities and initiate their own, keep them informed on the opportunities that USU provide for helping the societies
3. Build comprehensive friendly relations with the societies representatives that are founded on mutual trust and respect.
Supporting the Chairman’s department:
• Assist in preparing the necessary documentation, emails and other papers that help us push forward the Chairman’s efforts in consolidating the USU
• Provide executive and organisational support for organising our high-profile events led by our department (those that involve the wide participation of societies) – the Annual Summit, USU Birthday etc.
• Conceptualise crisis-management plans in case there are issues that impede the societies activities such as the artificial constraints imposed by their local university SU
Requirements:
• Current Ukrainian student or recent graduate between 18-28 years of age.
• Regularly attend team meetings and meetings with stakeholders and trustees.
• Strong understanding of the dynamics of Ukrainian student societies in the UK

• Being a creative person with fresh ideas on how to engage with societies.
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian (written and spoken).
