Conference at the University of Exeter

2nd June 2024

Organized by the Ukrainian Students Union (USU) alongside the University of Exeter, this two-day conference welcomed students from 38 Ukrainian societies across the UK. The event provided an invaluable platform for students to connect and collaborate through workshops, social activities, and networking opportunities.

Day one of the conference featured a range of activities, including a creative workshop and a city tour, organized by the Ukrainian committee at Exeter University.

On day two, attendees had the honor of hearing from prominent speakers:

  • Yevhenia Blyzniuk, founder of the research company Gradus Ukraine, shared insights on Ukrainian economic trends during wartime.
  • Kostyantyn Yefymenko, Director of the Biopharma Company and former Minister of Transport of Ukraine, discussed the unique challenges of conducting business in Ukraine during times of conflict.
  • Vladyslav Chechotkin, co-founder and co-owner of Rozetka, delivered an inspiring talk on adapting business strategies under wartime conditions.

This event also marked an important milestone for the Ukrainian Students Union, as three new university societies - Oxford Brookes University, the University of the West of England, and the University of Surrey - officially joined USU.

The conference was a resounding success, thanks to the support of Exeter University and the contributions of all attendees, making it a memorable and impactful gathering for Ukrainian students in the UK.
